It's far from a joke, however, because the answer is Stauning Whisky. A small distillery in the far west that has grown over time and made everyone's noses turn towards the smell of malt. Join us on a discovery and journey through Stauning's whisky production. Hear the story of their adventure and get up close to every step of the production. From the floor malting of the Danish barley and rye to distillation in the 24 copper pot stills. Meanwhile, enjoy the beautiful architecture of the new distillery, where the emphasis is on both soul and openness. Finish the experience by tasting three different types of whisky. A unique experience for all the senses, where you can see, feel, smell and taste.

Exclusive whiskey tasting at Stauning Whisky

Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the distillery at Stauning Whisky. On the tour you will hear about malting, measuring, fermenting, distilling and platter storage of whiskey. After this, the trip to Staunings Whisky's newly decorated tasting room in their old bottle warehouse, where you can see the oldest bottles from the first bottlings and special bottlings over the years. Here there will be an intimate whiskey tasting, where there will be time for calm, immersion and dialogue. Among other things, you will have to taste the bestsellers such as Rye, Chaos and Smoke, but also on discontinued bottlings as well as other surprises that are not on sale anymore. You are guaranteed an experience for all senses!

Cocktails & Tapas at Stauning Whisky and Lowlands

The experience starts with an exciting tour of the distillery in Stauning, where the skilled tour attendants tell stories of Stauning Whisky's adventures. The tour goes further into production, where you get very close to every stage of whiskey production. Following this, the trip goes to the neighbouring Lowlands distillery, producing gin, schnapps and their very own liquor category, Solitary Spirit. Here you will be served a light tapas cuisine to be enjoyed with delicious cocktails containing Danish-produced alcohol, all while telling about the history of Lowland.

Whiskey barrel tasting at Stauning Whisky

Have you ever thought about what whiskey tastes like straight from platter? You can get the answer to at Stauning Whisky when tasting moves out at the whisky warehouse. First you will be shown around the production telling of malting, mashing, fermenting, distilling and cask storage of whiskey. The tour ends at the whisky warehouse, where the award-winning whiskies are tasted directly from the platter. Scent for Angels Share and hear about the Devils Cut. There will be time for dialogue as you immerse yourself in the many impressions, and hear about the importance of fad storage for flavours and fragrances. Flax, taste and scent the difference between whiskey that has just come on platter and in conjunction with whiskey that has been on platter for several years.

Men hvorfor fadlager øl - og hvilke smagsnoter får øllen med sig fra et ophold i tønden? Kom med på opdagelse og rejsen gennem Staunings whiskyfremstilling. Hør historien om deres eventyr, og kom helt tæt på hvert trin i produktionen. Fra gulvmaltningen af det danske byg og rug til destillering i de 24 kobber pot stills. Imens kan du nyde den smukke arkitektur i det nye destilleri, hvor der er lagt vægt på både sjæl og åbenhed. Slut oplevelsen af med at smage tre forskellige slags whisky og tre øl som har lagt på selvsamme fade, smag dem op mod hinanden og udvid forståelsen for fadlagering.

Hygge, Knit & Drink

A cozy evening of whiskey & knit Come and join us for an unforgettable evening where knitwear and whiskey go up in a higher unity! This evening will feature both whiskey tasting, cocktail and exciting conversations about knitting, where you will have the opportunity to meet knitting designer Nanna Svendsen, who is the woman behind Septemberstik. Nanna, who has a background as a model constructor, shares her journey from being educated in the fashion industry to finding the joy of knitting late in life. She will talk about how she uses her knowledge from her education to create unique knitting designs with feminine cuts and a perfect fit, inspired by nature and the culture around her. Drawing on traditional Nordic knitwear and historical ornamentation, she creates designs that are both modern and timeless. The evening also offers exciting anecdotes, knitting tips and the opportunity to get new inspiration for your own projects. Nanna will be in conversation with newbie Jannie about everything from knitting techniques, yarn selection and design to the fun parallels between whisky and knitwear. While you get to taste the exquisite drops of Stauning Whisky, you will have a taste journey of both the liquid gold and the creative knitting challenges. The evening ends with a delicious whiskey cocktail, so you can enjoy the good conversations and knitting inspirations while relaxing and letting yourself be inspired for new knitting projects.
